Didi Souto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fernandinho de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes in the game Antônio Reis got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Tomás Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Cearense in the 26th minute of play. Osvaldinho Cearense succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 26th playminute. After 40 minutes, Kauan Borges mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibirocaim and the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kauan Borges hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Manoel Marinho might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomás Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manoel Marinho ran back to his position shaking his head.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manoel Marinho made a kick off. Gilvan Esteves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Didi Souto made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Kauan Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibirocaim's supporters rose to their feet, but Kauan Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Didi Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If José Augusto Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, José Augusto Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but José Augusto Trancoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The supporters of Ibirocaim booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Didi Souto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jânio Meirelles. When Gilvan Esteves came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ibirocaim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilvan Esteves couldn't finish the play. José Augusto Trancoso charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Augusto Trancoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, José Augusto Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomás Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manoel Marinho in the 92nd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ibirocaim walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
