Haroldo Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Pena in the 9th minute of the match. Gernando Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Veiga having to interfere. Edmílson Veiga came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Itaim SS's Gernando Sá. But to his dismay, Gernando Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Christian Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gernando Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Edmílson Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Chico Pernambucano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Haroldo Pires was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Itaim SS's Christian Koehler got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th match minute, Matariz FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedro Pontes to maneuver through the defense. After 31 minutes, Chico Pernambucano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matariz FC and the Itaim SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Gernando Sá made the kick off in the second half. Edinho Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Veiga having to interfere. José Pedro Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Edmílson Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Vergílio in the 63rd minute of the match. Edmílson Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 69th minute, Chico Pernambucano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Haroldo Pires, passed just outside the right post. José Pedro Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Itaim SS's goalkeeper Haroldo Pires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chico Pernambucano. Christian Koehler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Veiga having to interfere. The supporters of Matariz FC booed when Itaim SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gernando Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Christian Koehler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, Gernando Sá ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edmílson Veiga was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Gernando Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Edmílson Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
