The referee ignored Ribeiropolis's protests and gave Sandrinho Branco a yellow card for diving instead. Sandrinho Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes Espigao SC got a freekick which was hit by Sebastião Jacinto. In the 11th minute William Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jano Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Digo Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamim Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Abel Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espigao SC. The supporters of Espigao SC booed when Ribeiropolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Digo Moraes succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Abel Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Bittencourt in the 40th minute of play. When Espigao SC's Geraldo da Mata, in the 42nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Espigao SC. 44 minutes into the match, Ribeiropolis's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamim Bittencourt came free, but Abel Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamim Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Leão having to interfere. Espigao SC's Benjamim Bittencourt got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abel Leão acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ronaldão Coelho. Abel Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo da Mata in the 91st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Digo Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jano Guedes was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. In the 95th minute, Geraldo da Mata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
