Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Álvaro de Carvalho took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience was convinced that André Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juninho Penha was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. After having played for 10 minutes, Perivaldo Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cataguarinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Baiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Cataguarinho's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro de Carvalho came free, but Juninho Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Dinei de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Perivaldo Baiano during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Cataguarinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Baiano to maneuver through the defense. Juninho Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro de Carvalho in the 21st minute of play. Cataguarinho's Juninho Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro de Carvalho in the 23rd minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Cataguarinho's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro de Carvalho came free, but Juninho Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perivaldo Baiano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Marcus Trigo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Marcus Trigo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Perivaldo Baiano in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute, André Rossi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juninho Penha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro de Carvalho in the 41st minute of play forced Cataguarinho's goalkeeper Juninho Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes, Álvaro Mumbach mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cataguarinho and the Tupe players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 45 played minutes Cataguarinho got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Mumbach. After 46 played minutes, Tupe's Walmir Medeiros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juninho Penha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tupe reached it. In the 47th match minute, Cataguarinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei de Senna to maneuver through the defense. Álvaro de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Penha having to interfere. After the first half Tupe were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Álvaro de Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Tupe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro de Carvalho couldn't finish the play. Álvaro de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Juninho Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Luís Paulo Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perivaldo Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Trigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Cataguarinho booed when Tupe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cesinha Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 1-2 came in the 76th minute when Valério Moraes all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Marcus Trigo. Álvaro de Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Juninho Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tupe. Cataguarinho's Juninho Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro de Carvalho in the 87th minute of play. André Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Juninho Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Álvaro de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
