The audience thought a goal was coming when Filomeno Jon got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 13 minutes into the match, Bernardino Playo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Branislav Velchevski, 1-0. 26 minutes into the match, CeciForEver's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Prosperi came free, but Fermin Basajaun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CeciForEver's Fermin Basajaun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 31st minute of play. Fermin Basajaun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miguel Prosperi's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 43rd minute Elpidio Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fermin Basajaun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fermin Basajaun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Francis, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
