Villaverde Celeste Clube's Roy Makaay got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Armandinho Xavier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chico Pinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Nova Era's Chico Pinho got control of the ball when Roy Makaay tried to sneak it across the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Nova Era's goalkeeper Chico Pinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armandinho Xavier. In the 36th minute, Armandinho Xavier reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Chico Pinho. The goal made the score 1-0. A collision led to Nova Era getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Raphael Ceresso hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Eugênio Meireles sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Villaverde Celeste Clube's Nenko Reza didn't even have to move. In the 45th minute Roy Makaay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After 51 minutes, Roy Makaay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villaverde Celeste Clube and the Nova Era players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Roy Makaay got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Edmund Wawrukiewicz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edmund Wawrukiewicz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Villaverde Celeste Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edmund Wawrukiewicz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 52nd minute, Edmund Wawrukiewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nova Era's Guaberto Rocio got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chico Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guo Ao in the 73rd minute of play. Lucas Beltrán recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There was no doubt that Villaverde Celeste Clube were the better team. Villaverde Celeste Clube's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
