But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fattah Budail couldn't finish the play. After 17 minutes, Fattah Budail made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Honduras's Eraldo Guzman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Raúl Corpeño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bassam Wahbi having to interfere. With his leg Eraldo Guzman managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Lebanon's Fattah Budail fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 26 minutes, Selvin Rosales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Selvin Rosales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mostafa Jabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eraldo Guzman having to interfere. Eraldo Guzman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fattah Budail in the 31st minute. Raúl Corpeño took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bassam Wahbi. Bassam Wahbi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Fattah Budail was extremely unlucky when he, in the 37th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Eraldo Guzman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fattah Budail's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Bassam Wahbi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauricio Pacheco's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Selvin Rosales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hafiz Nusri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Eraldo Guzman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rdth minute of the game Dirar Rashid who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Eraldo Guzman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eraldo Guzman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fattah Budail's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fattah Budail in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eraldo Guzman saved Honduras from getting behind. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Fattah Budail sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eraldo Guzman. In the 60th minute, Mostafa Jabal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lebanon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Eraldo Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fattah Budail, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The corner ended in Mostafa Jabal almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Honduras's Eraldo Guzman did a great save. After 70 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hamodi Hamid who took care of the corner kick. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Dirar Rashid struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Eraldo Guzman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lebanon.
