Ale Ba was slow to take the kick. During this time Slovakia's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Slovakia's Ale Ba to fire away a dangerous shot which Enrique Frederick despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Enrique Frederick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marián Bienik's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute of the match Slovakia got a corner. Canada's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ale Ba ran over to the corner to take the kick. Matej Kuchár made a great header on Slovakia's corner, it was just that Canada's Enrique Frederick managed to reach the ball for a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
