Druce Garner was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pembroke Kerrin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Wales's zone, Úranus Supiks-Pupiks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pembroke Kerrin in the 37th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Ivan Karvaš to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Druce Garner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ale Ba, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 41 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Slovakia's Ale Ba fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After having played for 45 minutes, Pembroke Kerrin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pembroke Kerrin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Bajzík in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Druce Garner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 48 minutes, Roland Bajzík made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Wales's Druce Garner tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Pembroke Kerrin made the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes, Rheged James mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wales and the Slovakia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wales's Rheged James got a free kick in the 57th minute. Slovakia's Úranus Supiks-Pupiks got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wales made a substitution.
