Denis Saturnin replaced Dmitry Kayumov. 15 minutes into the match, Belmiro Loyola notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of U21 Mexico's Gervasio Bilintx. Gervasio Bilintx was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of U21 Mexico booed when U21 Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonatan Villacosta didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Generoso Jayvier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when U21 Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hiram Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Gervasio Bilintx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Belmiro Loyola. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rosalio Noti was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Chile's players had a chance to rest. In the 39th minute, one of U21 Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Chile. U21 Chile:s Laureano Lisboa showed great skill when he stopped Godofredo Sansone:s penalty. 41 minutes into the game, Arnulfo Gaspard threw the ball into play from the sideline. U21 Chile's Nafarroa Villamil quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Belmiro Loyola to make the kick off. Gervasio Bilintx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Loyola in the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Denis Saturnin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laureano Lisboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Saturnin in the 61st minute of the match. Laureano Lisboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Pavon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Chile's Laureano Lisboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Chile from getting a goal against them. During the 89th minute of the match Julio Galaz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Julio Galaz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Laureano Lisboa came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Mexico's Godofredo Sansone. But to his dismay, Godofredo Sansone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gervasio Bilintx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belmiro Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U21 Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
