In the 7th minute, Benedito Mineiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Castanheiro SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Liverpool FC's Anselmi Oksa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedito Mineiro in the 11th minute of play. Aku Rissanen hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute Anísio Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmi Oksa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmi Oksa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Umberto Dionísio went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 20th minute, Clemente Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st match minute, Liverpool FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tuukka Liimatainen to maneuver through the defense. Anselmi Oksa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Umberto Dionísio in the 26th minute of the match. Tuukka Liimatainen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Edinho Pirani hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, one of Liverpool FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Liverpool FC. Anselmi Oksa had in the 36thth minute some difficulties stopping Benedito Mineiro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Anselmi Oksa came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Castanheiro SC's Anísio Alagoano. But to his dismay, Anísio Alagoano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miika Vihtilä stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anselmi Oksa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 52nd match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Vianna to maneuver through the defense. Anísio Alagoano took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anselmi Oksa. Anselmi Oksa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Castanheiro SC made a substitution. Marcelo Eger replaced Magno Pereira. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Liverpool FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilmari Seppo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Benedito Mineiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anselmi Oksa skillfully saved the ball. A hard shot 69 in the game by Umberto Dionísio from a close distance when the talented Anselmi Oksa managed to make a qualified save. Liverpool FC's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Dionísio in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmi Oksa saved Liverpool FC from getting behind. Tuukka Liimatainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Pedrinho Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anselmi Oksa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Sarmento in the 81st minute of play forced Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Anselmi Oksa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Castanheiro SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
