Perivaldo Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Coelho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Carlberg came free, but Nestor Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jimmy Ståhlberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Paraense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Melchester Rovers booed when Coelho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coelho FC's Nestor Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Carlberg in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Coelho FC got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Negri. Jimmy Ståhlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonathan Negri in the 31st minute. Jimmy Ståhlberg made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Olívio Borges sent off a good shot on target. When Andréas Sundin came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Melchester Rovers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andréas Sundin couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute, Andréas Sundin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience cheered loudly when Samuel do Vale's long shot in the 40th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Jimmy Ståhlberg. In the 47th match minute, Melchester Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sonny Allbom to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Negri was the one to do the kick off. Rasmus Wenerdahl charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rasmus Wenerdahl the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th minute, Rasmus Wenerdahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Negri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wictor Sandström's late challenge caught a Coelho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wictor Sandström helped the player get up and apologised. Wictor Sandström hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Alfredinho Paraense kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Melchester Rovers's Andréas Sundin got a free kick in the 65th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perivaldo Azevedo in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jimmy Ståhlberg saved Melchester Rovers from getting behind. The supporters of Coelho FC booed when Melchester Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Carlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Coelho FC's Jonathan Negri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jimmy Ståhlberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Coelho FC's Jonathan Negri in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredinho Paraense in the 88th minute of play forced Melchester Rovers's goalkeeper Jimmy Ståhlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andréas Sundin took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nestor Lopes. Nestor Lopes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Coelho FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Melchester Rovers had controlled the match.
