After 6 played minutes Quilaquina AFC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Tartalo. Sebastian Bergsten took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Braulio Nalo. Braulio Nalo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sven-Edvin Lundström hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Brahim Charradi got a free kick in the 16th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Rey got free with Bengt-Åke Lövskog in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute, Orlando Rey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt-Åke Lövskog was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Braulio Nalo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brahim Charradi in the 31st minute of the match. During the 31st minute of the match Alfredo Tartalo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alfredo Tartalo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Quilaquina AFC's Alfredo Tartalo got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Quilaquina AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brahim Charradi came free, but Braulio Nalo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orlando Rey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 46 minutes, Orlando Rey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quilaquina AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Rey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Brahim Charradi made the kick off in the second half. Feliberto Nardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Åke Lövskog having to interfere. A collision led to Étoile Sportive Du Sahel getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Sven-Edvin Lundström hit a great ball. Orlando Rey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Mark Biörling got a free kick in the 67th minute. Bengt-Åke Lövskog showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fermin Tipi, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Eduardo Quinton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Åke Lövskog having to interfere. Feliberto Nardo struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Bengt-Åke Lövskog didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quilaquina AFC. In the 80th minute, Orlando Rey made a precise shot to the right of Bengt-Åke Lövskog. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Feliberto Nardo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Quilaquina AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feliberto Nardo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Mark Biörling got a free kick in the 88th minute. The supporters of Étoile Sportive Du Sahel booed when Quilaquina AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fermin Tipi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Braulio Nalo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from André Alfors. In the 96th minute, Quilaquina AFC's Humberto Haritzeder seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Humberto Haritzeder the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Quilaquina AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Humberto Haritzeder had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Braulio Nalo had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping André Alfors's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
