The referee ignored Club Deportivo Álvarez's protests and gave Rosendo Soter a yellow card for diving instead. Rosendo Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Nayely in the 14th minute of play forced Haymakers FC's goalkeeper Rickard Wallengren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Apolo Munio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Dahlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Albano Gumaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rickard Wallengren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Teo Valente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rickard Wallengren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Haymakers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Modesto Ricart came free, but Rickard Wallengren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ted Dahlgren got free with Apolo Munio in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ted Dahlgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute, Osvaldo Oihan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ted Dahlgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Apolo Munio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Haymakers FC defense, Modesto Ricart kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rickard Wallengren. The Haymakers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rickard Wallengren should have stopped the shot. Haymakers FC's Rickard Wallengren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Haymakers FC from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute, Gilberto Nayely made a precise shot to the right of Rickard Wallengren. Haymakers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Club Deportivo Álvarez's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
