The throw-in from Samuel Jobo in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bulgaria's Mihail Mustakerski. In the 19th minute Amado Arotza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitomir Starokin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitomir Starokin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Rolado in the 23rd minute of the match. Severo Rolado kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 28thth minute of the game Marko Ruskov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argentina's Lev Yashin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th minute Argentina were awarded a corner. Gregorio Urtsin went to the cornerflag to take it. Argentina's Fausto Santana was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vitomir Starokin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 32 minutes into the match, Argentina's Arnaldo Perpinya sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vitomir Starokin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Bulgaria's goalkeeper Vitomir Starokin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amado Arotza. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Vitomir Starokin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Bulgaria's Dido Dunchev got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Gregorio Urtsin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vitomir Starokin. Bulgaria's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Bulgaria's goalkeeper Vitomir Starokin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severo Rolado. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Bulgaria's Denimir Tzonkov was substituted for Marko Ruskov. In the 89th minute, Denimir Tzonkov reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lev Yashin. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 92nd minute, Ceferino Nalo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
