Poulus Farias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 10th minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Marcel Abreu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcel Abreu during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marcel Abreu hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. RKO AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Marcel Abreu 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Soni Féron scored 4-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Poulus Farias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. João Batistas short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Poulus Farias to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 29 minutes into the game, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Marcel Abreu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Poulus Farias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. 33 minutes into the match, RKO AFC's goalkeeper Poulus Farias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Batista. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Carlos Alberto Magalhães got a free kick in the 34th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Pierre Dagnino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RKO AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E.R. Caxias do Sul the free kick. Pierre Dagnino kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, RKO AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Magalhães came free, but Poulus Farias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Marcel Abreu took a quick shot and it went in 6-0 without a chance for Poulus Farias to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, RKO AFC's Poulus Farias got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Magalhães tried to sneak it across the goal line. Poulus Farias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcel Abreu in the 46th minute. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by RKO AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Alberto Magalhães was slow to take the kick. During this time S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Soni Féron got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 7-0. 48 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulises Fanjul to strike the kick off in the second half. When S.E.R. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Poulus Farias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Marcel Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's João Batista got a free kick in the 78th minute. Poulus Farias came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Carlos Alberto Magalhães. But to his dismay, Carlos Alberto Magalhães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Carlos Alberto Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Alberto Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Poulus Farias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st match minute, RKO AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romano Gaona to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 92 minutes, Marcel Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcel Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Marcel Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fully deserved thier win.
