The tension between the Suprs Academia and the Sporting Clube Patrício players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Suprs Academia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Israel Madeira to maneuver through the defense. Almiro Setúbal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Dinamite in the 17th minute of the match. When Mário Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Almiro Setúbal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Bruno Serpa's late challenge caught a Suprs Academia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Serpa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Suprs Academia getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Vítor Freitas hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Patrício's goal looked a bit too open when Gonsalvo Ramos came free, but Almiro Setúbal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Almiro Setúbal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gonsalvo Ramos's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Mário Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Miguel Prod'Homme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute Robert Dinamite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almiro Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vítor Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Freitas in the 38th minute of play forced Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Almiro Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseu Mourinho to make the kick off. Miguel Prod'Homme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pádua in the 53rd minute of play. Robert Dinamite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Almiro Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrício Pinhal went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Vítor Freitas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Almiro Setúbal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Vítor Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Almiro Setúbal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vítor Freitas. Miguel Prod'Homme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Mourinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 70 played minutes Sporting Clube Patrício got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Mourinho. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube Patrício's Honorato Andrade got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Almiro Setúbal made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Gonsalvo Ramos sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Suprs Academia booed when Sporting Clube Patrício was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pádua didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu Mourinho scored 3-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Prod'Homme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Sporting Clube Patrício support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
