The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisão de Senna got free with Vasco Larrangos in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vasco Larrangos made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Zeca Siqueira sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Olando Marty got a free kick in the 9th minute. Rubio Villapadierna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Rangel having to interfere. If Baiona Gargante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Zeca Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Rangel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baiona Gargante, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeca Siqueira in the 35th minute of play forced Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Vasco Larrangos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Clube Audax Metropolitano booed when Club Dep. Soc. Rodo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Coronel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisão de Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Vasco Larrangos made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baiona Gargante made a kick off. Vasco Larrangos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeca Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Clube Audax Metropolitano getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Luisão de Senna hit a great ball. After 55 played minutes Club Dep. Soc. Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Palben Zalona. Vasco Larrangos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão de Senna in the 61st minute of play. Clube Audax Metropolitano's Sandrinho da Mata was substituted for Teodoro França. 73 minutes into the game, Zeca Siqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Audax Metropolitano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Dep. Soc. Rodo the free kick. In the 73rd match minute, Clube Audax Metropolitano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca Siqueira to maneuver through the defense. After taking down the ball on Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's corner Olando Marty fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pedro Rangel quite easily take care of the ball. Vasco Larrangos came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Audax Metropolitano's Luisão de Senna. But to his dismay, Luisão de Senna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 82 played minutes Clube Audax Metropolitano got a freekick which was hit by Falcão Severo. In the 85thth minute of the game Acácio Pernambucano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Vasco Larrangos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vasco Larrangos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeca Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Acácio Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Larrangos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clube Audax Metropolitano's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
