But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Beckeman couldn't finish the play. Ermegildo Matxin came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Pihl United's Valentin Beckeman. But to his dismay, Valentin Beckeman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Sugar in the 26th minute of play forced Pihl United's goalkeeper Gustav Wallengren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ermegildo Matxin made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Valentin Beckeman sent off a good shot on target.
