The Minotauro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duarte de Barros should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute, Anderson Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duarte de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Fantini in the 42nd minute of play. AFC - Curitiba's Durvalino Donatello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save AFC - Curitiba from getting a goal against them.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chicão Corrêa to strike the kick off in the second half. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. AFC - Curitiba had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
