With a little luck, SK Dreigoten's Bill de Neutere got control of the ball when Leo Van Mechelen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fransesco Jenken scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roni Van Hoyveldt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th match minute, SK Dreigoten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jules Van Beringhen to maneuver through the defense. Bill de Neutere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Van Mechelen in the 16th minute of the match. After some careless play in the YR Mechelen defense, Luukas Van Halbeeck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roni Van Hoyveldt. The YR Mechelen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roni Van Hoyveldt should have stopped the shot. After 29 played minutes SK Dreigoten got a freekick which was hit by Jules Van Beringhen. Stanny Van Wontergem kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. A collision led to SK Dreigoten getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Harrie Huijbrechts hit a great ball. After 40 minutes of play, SK Dreigoten's Fransesco Jenken made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roni Van Hoyveldt was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 43rd minute, Fransesco Jenken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charl Luyten in the 47th minute of play forced YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Roni Van Hoyveldt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Roni Van Hoyveldt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jules Van Beringhen in the 52nd minute. In the 58th minute Charl Luyten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roni Van Hoyveldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Van Mechelen struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Bill de Neutere didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for YR Mechelen. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Leo Van Mechelen put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Bill de Neutere. Fransesco Jenken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roni Van Hoyveldt having to make a save. YR Mechelen's Roni Van Hoyveldt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save YR Mechelen from getting a goal against them. Roni Van Hoyveldt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Charl Luyten went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. In the 74thth minute of the game Leo Van Mechelen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SK Dreigoten's Bill de Neutere was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When YR Mechelen's Leo Van Mechelen in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SK Dreigoten's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, SK Dreigoten's Harrie Huijbrechts got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Leo Van Mechelen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Charl Luyten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roni Van Hoyveldt was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. When the match was over SK Dreigoten could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than YR Mechelen throughout the match.
