The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Chapadao Rs booed when Hockeysnubbarnas BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaj Duset didn't get a good kick on the ball. John Jonasson's late challenge caught a Chapadao Rs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Jonasson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th match minute, Hockeysnubbarnas BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Jonasson to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 6 in the game by Ronaldinho Gaúcho from a close distance when the talented Billy Pil managed to make a qualified save. Hockeysnubbarnas BK's players were relieved. Roger Guedes kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes, Hockeysnubbarnas BK's Max Jelm shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Virgílio Abraão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hockeysnubbarnas BK reached it. Virgílio Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Åkesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Virgílio Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl Åkesson in the 17th minute of play. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Billy Pil as he didn't even see the shot coming. Virgílio Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Åkesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Tomé do Nascimento hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When Boris Lövgren came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Hockeysnubbarnas BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boris Lövgren couldn't finish the play. Billy Pil was a little too slow when Ediberto Sá got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 3-0. Hong Unge hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The audience was convinced that Ronaldinho Gaúcho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Billy Pil was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Boris Lövgren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hockeysnubbarnas BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After 61 minutes of play, Hockeysnubbarnas BK's Max Jelm made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgílio Abraão was left in no man's land by his defense there! 65 minutes into the match, Ronaldinho Gaúcho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Billy Pil. Hockeysnubbarnas BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldinho Gaúcho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. In the 75th minute, Hockeysnubbarnas BK's Max Jelm dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-3. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Boris Lövgren took a quick shot and it went in 5-4 without a chance for Virgílio Abraão to make any attempt to save it. Virgílio Abraão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl Åkesson in the 85th minute. Ronaldinho Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Billy Pil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapadao Rs. After a rather tough play, Chapadao Rs's Tomé do Nascimento got a free kick in the 89th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Virgílio Abraão successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldinho Gaúcho in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Pil saved Hockeysnubbarnas BK from getting behind.
