The supporters of CANARINHOS DE ALCAINS booed when Benfica de Penafirme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higino Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viriato Moura's late challenge caught a Benfica de Penafirme's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Viriato Moura helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as CANARINHOS DE ALCAINS's Jorge Queirós slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of David Vilaverde. That made the score 2-0 after 33 minutes of play. When the match had been going on for 38 minutes, CANARINHOS DE ALCAINS's Marcos Vides got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of David Vilaverde. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Queirós made a kick off. A collision led to Benfica de Penafirme getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Jacob Amado hit a great ball. David Vilaverde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Benfica de Penafirme's Higino Peixoto got a free kick in the 54th minute. Jorge Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 60 minutes, Jacob Amado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Benfica de Penafirme and the CANARINHOS DE ALCAINS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute of the match Cândido Borges sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Vilaverde skillfully saved the ball. José Baptista hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. With his leg António Brochado managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Benfica de Penafirme's Higino Lencastre fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Benfica de Penafirme defense, José Baptista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Vilaverde. The Benfica de Penafirme fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Vilaverde should have stopped the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart.
