Oğuzcan Atay hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the ÇORUM FK defense, Mevlüt Zeyrek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Şahin Egelioğlu. The ÇORUM FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Şahin Egelioğlu should have stopped the shot. In the 14th minute, Temel Ulubaş ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Şahin Egelioğlu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 17 minutes into the match, ÇORUM FK's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Şefik Zümer came free, but Şahin Egelioğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ÇORUM FK's Şahin Egelioğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Temel Ulubaş in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to ÇORUM FK getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Hakkı Kenan Bedi hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Çetin Elçibey in the 25th minute of play forced ÇORUM FK's goalkeeper Şahin Egelioğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fikri Sakman in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mahsun Sonalp, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 0-3 became the score in the 32nd minute when Temel Ulubaş elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Şahin Egelioğlu came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Newells Old Boys's Mevlüt Zeyrek. But to his dismay, Mevlüt Zeyrek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 44 minutes into the match, ÇORUM FK's goal looked a bit too open when Lokman Sağlamtürk came free, but Şahin Egelioğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Newells Old Boys's Mevlüt Zeyrek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Şahin Egelioğlu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Lokman Sağlamtürk made the kick off in the second half. Temel Ulubaş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ÇORUM FK's Şahin Egelioğlu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save ÇORUM FK from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Lokman Sağlamtürk took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Şahin Egelioğlu to make any attempt to save it. ÇORUM FK's Serter Kayra got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mevlüt Zeyrek took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Şahin Egelioğlu. Şahin Egelioğlu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mevlüt Zeyrek got free with Şahin Egelioğlu in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zikri Temizcan hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. If Serter Kayra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind ÇORUM FK's goalkeeper Şahin Egelioğlu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Şefik Zümer got free with Şahin Egelioğlu in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th match minute, ÇORUM FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hakkı Kenan Bedi to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Oğuzcan Atay managed to get in a good position for a shot. ÇORUM FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Oğuzcan Atay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mahsun Sonalp breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 86 played minutes ÇORUM FK got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Haşim İçkin. Lokman Sağlamtürk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şahin Egelioğlu having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Mirkelam Periz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newells Old Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ÇORUM FK the free kick. In the 91st match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mirkelam Periz to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, ÇORUM FK's Zülfikar Dilşah got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
