Spectators: 175 (Terracing: 132, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) CSD Concepción's Florinio Sales started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, CSD Concepción's goal looked a bit too open when Silvio Navia came free, but Nicolás Villamil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salomone Liendo in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Rolando Solares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute Salomone Liendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilkka Markkula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Podador Raheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Nicolás Villamil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute of the match, Florinio Sales tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ilkka Markkula saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Podador Raheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute, Gualberto Abbatte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raimundo Tupper might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolás Villamil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raimundo Tupper ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicolás Villamil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Tupper in the 27th minute of the match. CSD Concepción's Nicolás Villamil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Gebhard in the 30th minute of play. After 30th play minutes Raimundo Tupper shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Nicolás Villamil and just under the crossbar into goal. Qu Zheng Song kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Nicolás Villamil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Podador Raheiro in the 37th minute of the match. Florinio Sales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilkka Markkula having to interfere.

Nicolás Villamil stood somewhat misplaced when Yan Zhi Chuan came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 54 minute. In the 59th minute Raimundo Tupper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás Villamil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th play minute Raimundo Tupper came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nicolás Villamil. 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportes Santa Cruz's zone, Gualberto Abbatte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilkka Markkula came out of the goal and Gualberto Abbatte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the game, Cristofer Tejada was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CSD Concepción's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Deportes Santa Cruz the free kick. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when CSD Concepción was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristofer Tejada didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Yan Zhi Chuan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nicolás Villamil. Yan Zhi Chuan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. When Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Yan Zhi Chuan in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CSD Concepción's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Yan Zhi Chuan sped through CSD Concepción's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicolás Villamil. Nicolás Villamil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvio Navia in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute Yan Zhi Chuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás Villamil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yan Zhi Chuan struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Nicolás Villamil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportes Santa Cruz. If Yan Zhi Chuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. CSD Concepción's Nicolás Villamil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save CSD Concepción from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Club Deportes Santa Cruz walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
