Jens-Ola Nordin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Martin Munter when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Martin Munter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennart Svanström in the 6th minute of play. Jens-Ola Nordin kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. When Lennart Svanström fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garphyttan's protests and gave Lennart Svanström a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Lennart Svanström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karl-Åke Sandell hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Bernt Nordmark kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 17thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Hartlepool's keeper Martin Munter was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Martin Munter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Svanström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Garphyttan's Jens-Ola Nordin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Martin Munter. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greger Åberg in the 25th minute of play forced Garphyttan's goalkeeper Ivar Classon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Garphyttan booed when Hartlepool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Helberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Linus Benett, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ivar Classon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greger Åberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Hartlepool's Martin Munter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennart Svanström in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Lennart Svanström notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Hartlepool's Martin Munter. Martin Munter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Håkan Hård came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ivar Classon could save by the left post. In the 76th minute Fabian Fager shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivar Classon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilhelm Västerstrand kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Linus Benett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garphyttan's supporters rose to their feet, but Linus Benett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Munter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filip Flink hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Stig-Ove Alberg hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Martin Munter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Svanström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garphyttan's Ivar Classon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Fager in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Garphyttan's goalkeeper Ivar Classon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Håkan Hård. In the 90th match minute, Hartlepool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Hård to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Lennart Svanström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Munter. Hartlepool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lennart Svanström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Garphyttan's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
