The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Oséas dos Santos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Fonseca in the 7th minute of play forced Família Ressaca MZ's goalkeeper Vitinho Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leandro Fonseca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vitinho Fontes came out and tried to block the shot, but Leandro Fonseca slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. When Marquês de Herval's Leandro Fonseca in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Pedro Botelho in the 34th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dráuzio Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Diniz. In the 40th minute Wellington de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráuzio Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Simões's late challenge caught a Família Ressaca MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcus Simões helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Família Ressaca MZ booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joélson Goiano during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joélson Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Pedro Botelho was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Leandro Fonseca notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Família Ressaca MZ's Vitinho Fontes. Vitinho Fontes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Sydney Diniz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 60 minutes had been played. Oséas dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leandro Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Vitinho Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Família Ressaca MZ's Tiaguinho Cavalcante got a free kick in the 89th minute. Marquês de Herval were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
