Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cícero Saldanha kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute Aloísio Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Benê Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the MINEIROS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benê Amorim couldn't finish the play. Serginho Taffarel came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Rezende FC's Jorginho Koehler. But to his dismay, Jorginho Koehler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 18 minutes of play, MINEIROS's Hugo Albuquerque made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luciano Breckenfeld was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cícero Saldanha in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serginho Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 27 minutes, João Paraíba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MINEIROS and the Rezende FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, MINEIROS's João Paraíba got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 31stth minute of the game Toninho Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rezende FC's Luciano Breckenfeld was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rezende FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. João Vítor Linhares was slow to take the kick. During this time MINEIROS's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that João Vítor Linhares got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luciano Breckenfeld quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Toninho Goiano put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Luciano Breckenfeld. If Joel Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. MINEIROS's Serginho Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Koehler in the 43rd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Toninho Goiano was the one to do the kick off. Luciano Breckenfeld was a little too slow when Joel Quadros got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 1-3. MINEIROS's Joel Quadros was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 56th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Rezende FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Toninho Goiano 59 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-5. Hugo Albuquerque blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luciano Breckenfeld having to make a save. MINEIROS's Maicon Quintal was substituted for Joel Quadros. 67 minutes into the game, Maicon Quintal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luciano Breckenfeld. Maicon Quintal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. 76 minutes into the game, Maicon Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MINEIROS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rezende FC the free kick. Maicon Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. A collision led to Rezende FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Jorginho Koehler hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Quintal in the 82nd minute of play forced Rezende FC's goalkeeper Luciano Breckenfeld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Toninho Goiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luciano Breckenfeld. Rezende FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toninho Goiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Luciano Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rezende FC's Luciano Breckenfeld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Goiano in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Nelsinho Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MINEIROS's Maicon Quintal got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Maicon Quintal off the ground. After a rather tough play, MINEIROS's Maicon Quintal got a free kick in the 95th minute. MINEIROS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
