Spectators: 7709 (Terracing: 5783, Seating: 1773, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Devon Swanson kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd match minute, Federal Way was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rory Doty to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dana Spicer in the 5th minute of play forced Federal Way's goalkeeper Chris Singletary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute Owen Lancaster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chris Singletary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Locust Valley AFC's Kenny Messer got control of the ball when Ramiro Maurer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramiro Maurer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Kenny Messer skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Locust Valley AFC's Kenny Messer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Locust Valley AFC from getting a goal against them. Kenny Messer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Devon Swanson in the 20th minute of the match. With a little luck, Locust Valley AFC's Kenny Messer got control of the ball when Ramiro Maurer tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Kenny Messer managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Federal Way's Raphael McCloud fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 24 played minutes Locust Valley AFC got a freekick which was hit by Owen Lancaster. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Devon Swanson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Federal Way's supporters rose to their feet, but Devon Swanson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kenny Messer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rory Doty's late challenge caught a Locust Valley AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rory Doty helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Federal Way got a freekick which was hit by Rory Doty. The supporters of Locust Valley AFC booed when Federal Way was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rory Doty didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Federal Way's Raphael McCloud dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Ramiro Maurer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenny Messer having to interfere. Devon Swanson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kenny Messer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Maurer in the 57th minute of play forced Locust Valley AFC's goalkeeper Kenny Messer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roland Payne charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roland Payne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Federal Way getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Roland Payne hit a great ball. Dana Spicer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64thth minute of the game Devon Swanson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Locust Valley AFC's Kenny Messer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Federal Way's Ramiro Maurer got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dana Spicer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Chris Singletary made a huge save. Rory Doty was shown his second yellow card after 72 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 72nd match minute, Federal Way was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rory Doty to maneuver through the defense. Fred English blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chris Singletary having to make a save. Ali Carnes hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. If Ramiro Maurer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84th minute Fred English shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chris Singletary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Locust Valley AFC fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Locust Valley AFC's Dana Spicer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Ramiro Maurer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Locust Valley AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Federal Way.
