The referee ignored Nakapa CR's protests and gave Wilson Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Nakapa CR got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Lopes. Gonçalo Amaral's late challenge caught a Nakapa CR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonçalo Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. Arí Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Furtado having to interfere. A hard shot 21 in the game by Robert Lewandowski from a close distance when the talented Waldemar Luz managed to make a qualified save. Nakapa CR's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Lewandowski got free with Waldemar Luz in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute, Adrianinho Guimarães fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Cláudio Trigo fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nakapa CR's protests and gave Cláudio Trigo a yellow card for diving instead. Cláudio Trigo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Nakapa CR's Waldemar Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Nakapa CR from getting a goal against them. Doriva Dracena was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nakapa CR's zone, Robert Lewandowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar Luz came out of the goal and Robert Lewandowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st match minute, Nakapa CR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robert Lewandowski was the one to do the kick off. Waldemar Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stasio Bejrut in the 54th minute of the match. Waldemar Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Juventude F.C booed when Nakapa CR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raúl de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Arí Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nakapa CR's goalkeeper Waldemar Luz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Nakapa CR's Ronaldinho Furtado threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Raúl de Medeiros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the Nakapa CR defense, Ernesto Dracena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldemar Luz. The Nakapa CR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldemar Luz should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the Juventude F.C players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
