Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) Candido's Olavo Silva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Olavo Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Falcão Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marcus Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the game, Clube De Regatas Flamengo's Wiliam Leite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgard Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Davinson Sánchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Meirelles in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Abel Torres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube De Regatas Flamengo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Olavo Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clube De Regatas Flamengo's Wiliam Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horácio Guimarães got free with Falcão Bueno in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute Wiliam Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Wiliam Leite made the kick off in the second half. Thiago Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. That made the score 0-6 in the 64 minute of play. Wiliam Leite was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Clube De Regatas Flamengo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Candido's Edgard Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiliam Leite in the 71st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Davinson Sánchez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgard Toledo. That made the score 0-7 in the 72 minute of play. The supporters of Candido booed when Clube De Regatas Flamengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute of the match Dagoberto Peixoto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Falcão Bueno skillfully saved the ball. When Olavo Silva fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Candido's protests and gave Olavo Silva a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Candido getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Olavo Silva hit a great ball. In the 82nd match minute, Candido was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Custódio Neves to maneuver through the defense. Abel Torres blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgard Toledo having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Clube De Regatas Flamengo's Thiago Cavalcante slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edgard Toledo. That made the score 0-8 after 91 minutes of play. When Wiliam Leite came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Clube De Regatas Flamengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wiliam Leite couldn't finish the play. Edgard Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thiago Cavalcante's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wiliam Leite in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgard Toledo saved Candido from getting behind.
