Percival Seco hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the game, José Maria Matorin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tomás Figueiredo. José Maria Matorin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Glauco Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Itacurussu booed when Císio Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Itacurussu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Císio Futebol Clube the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Glauco Simão to make the kick off. Tomás Figueiredo came out of the goal and Thomás Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
