Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Roy Keane kicked off to start the match. Roy Keane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Augusto Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to Velha Guarda getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Takis Konstantinou hit a great ball. Adrianinho do Nascimento came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by LUZAZUL's Zacarias Araújo. But to his dismay, Zacarias Araújo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of LUZAZUL booed when Velha Guarda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeferson da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Takis Konstantinous short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Carlos Augusto Leão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zacarias Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Adrianinho do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Martins in the 30th minute of play forced Velha Guarda's goalkeeper Adrianinho do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, LUZAZUL's João Paulo Montenegro got a free kick in the 31st minute. If Ernesto Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho do Nascimento having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Velha Guarda's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Martins came free, but Adrianinho do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, LUZAZUL's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Keane came free, but Carlos Augusto Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, LUZAZUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Urbano to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Velha Guarda's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Martins came free, but Adrianinho do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Ernesto Martins made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Roy Keane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. LUZAZUL made a substitution. In the 63rdth minute of the game Takis Konstantinou who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LUZAZUL's Carlos Augusto Leão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. LUZAZUL's Carlos Augusto Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takis Konstantinou in the 65th minute of play. Carlos Augusto Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Keane, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Daniel Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Takis Konstantinou in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Augusto Leão saved LUZAZUL from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Takis Konstantinou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of LUZAZUL:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Velha Guarda:s goal. In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for Velha Guarda. Duda Brasil stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carlos Augusto Leão. 2-2. Carlos Augusto Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Takis Konstantinou, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 85th match minute, LUZAZUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elói Silva to maneuver through the defense. Roy Keane recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Roy Keane's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Augusto Leão was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. 91 minutes into the match, Takis Konstantinou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Augusto Leão. LUZAZUL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Takis Konstantinou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Dedé Breckenfeld was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Carlos Augusto Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Keane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Velha Guarda were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of LUZAZUL for a fine match.
