The audience was convinced that Severino Brodel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago de Amorim was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Severino Brodel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 28 minutes into the match, BARREA's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Maranhense came free, but Vânderson Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When BARREA's Severino Brodel in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Irajai's goalie prevented a goal. Vânderson Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Maranhense in the 39th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fernando Maranhense made a kick off. Paulão Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulão Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd minute, Paulão Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Délio Fontes in the 55th minute of play forced BARREA's goalkeeper Vânderson Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Severino Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Severino Brodel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thiago de Amorim. The goal made the score 0-3. The BARREA fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when BARREA's Severino Brodel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. BARREA's Severino Brodel was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 72nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. A collision led to Irajai getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Luciano Carvalho hit a great ball. Ediberto Lago might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago de Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ediberto Lago ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd match minute, BARREA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Quaresma to maneuver through the defense. Vânderson Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Digo Dantas in the 83rd minute of play. BARREA's Vânderson Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Maranhense in the 87th minute of play.
