The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu de Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Eduardo Fantini in the 71st minute of play forced Chapena's goalkeeper Waldemar de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vágner Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar de Sena having to interfere. Waldemar de Sena stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dudu de Lima's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dudu de Lima in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldemar de Sena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 86 played minutes Caravelas got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Eduardo Fantini. Frédson Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Waldemar de Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caravelas. After having played for 94 minutes, Vágner Bittencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caravelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vágner Bittencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chapena's Waldemar de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu de Lima in the 96th minute of play. Frédson Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Waldemar de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Caravelas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
