Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ricardinho Lima got the match started through his kick off. Alberto Galvãos short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Luizinho Saldanha to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Wesley Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luizinho Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardinho Lima in the 17th minute of play. Alberto Galvão struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Luizinho Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taquarembo SC. In the 26th minute, Magno de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Cazuza FC's Luizinho Saldanha got control of the ball when Alberto Galvão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardinho Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Luizinho Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Cardoso came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cazuza FC's Wesley Moreira. But to his dismay, Wesley Moreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ricardinho Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizinho Saldanha having to interfere. Alberto Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Alberto Galvão notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cazuza FC's Luizinho Saldanha. Luizinho Saldanha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gonçalo Vianna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Cazuza FC's zone, Simão Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizinho Saldanha came out of the goal and Simão Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 56 minutes, Marcel Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cazuza FC and the Taquarembo SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cazuza FC! Luizinho Saldanha went to the wrong direction when Egídio Gonçalves was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Wesley Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74thth minute of the game Gonçalo Vianna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taquarembo SC's Antônio Carlos Cardoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Simão Lima was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. With a little luck, Taquarembo SC's Antônio Carlos Cardoso got control of the ball when Wesley Moreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute, Marcel Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alberto Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yan Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonçalo Vianna might have been able to make a better finish in the 99th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antônio Carlos Cardoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonçalo Vianna ran back to his position shaking his head. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
