Luiz Paulo Paraense hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Icaturama's zone, Haroldo Donato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho Britto came out of the goal and Haroldo Donato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Geovanni da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haroldo Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Betinho Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Luiz Meira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd minute, José Sarmento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Haroldo Donato blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Betinho Britto having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Beverini's José Sarmento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Betinho Britto. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Genílson Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beverini's supporters rose to their feet, but Genílson Motta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betinho Britto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Betinho Britto made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Augusto da Costa in the 38th minute. Genílson Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 44 minutes, Genílson Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beverini's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genílson Motta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Icaturama's Betinho Britto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Icaturama from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geovanni da Cunha was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Motta in the 53rd minute of play forced Icaturama's goalkeeper Betinho Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genílson Motta scored 2-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Betinho Britto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Genílson Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Betinho Britto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Icaturama's goalkeeper Betinho Britto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Betinho Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Sarmento in the 73rd minute of the match. Betinho Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Motta in the 75th minute of play. If Genílson Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. Betinho Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
