Aluísio do Valle hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Mugur Aanuţei came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the A.C Alma de León fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mugur Aanuţei couldn't finish the play. After 33 minutes, Pedro Luiz Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Acarau AD and the A.C Alma de León players grew even worse after the yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Mugur Aanuţei's late challenge caught a Acarau AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mugur Aanuţei helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Acarau AD booed when A.C Alma de León was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugur Aanuţei didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, A.C Alma de León's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Tróia came free, but Ediberto Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
