Cléber Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléber Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cambitos's Cléber Recife got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 30th minute, Pedro Luiz Mangueira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luisão Eger. The goal made the score 1-0. 37 minutes in the game, Cauã Rocha fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Luisão Eger having to interfere. Pedro Luiz Mangueira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 39th minute. Atlético Paulista's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Cambitos's Chico Ceresso got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Cambitos booed when Atlético Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético Paulista's Nilton Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chico Ceresso in the 45th minute of play. Cauã Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Luisão Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chico Ceresso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nilton Loureiro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cristóvão Saraiva. The crowd rose to their feet as Cambitos's Chico Ceresso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nilton Loureiro. That made the score 1-1 after 54 minutes of play. In the 57th minute Cauã Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Eger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bebeto Félix's late challenge caught a Atlético Paulista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bebeto Félix helped the player get up and apologised. Bebeto Félix hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Cauã Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The long shot by Cristóvão Saraiva in the 67th minute really tested Nilton Loureiro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Atlético Paulista getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Dario Baldovino hit a great ball. Nilton Loureiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 72nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cristóvão Saraiva. If Pedro Luiz Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Cambitos's Leopoldo Gaúcho got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After 88 minutes, Cauã Rocha made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cambitos's Luisão Eger tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Luiz Mangueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisão Eger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Luiz Mangueira ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the Atlético Paulista players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
