The referee ignored COLÉGIO FC's protests and gave Víktor Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. Víktor Koehler hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in COLÉGIO FC's zone, Emerson Lopez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agnaldo da Cunha came out of the goal and Emerson Lopez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute Doriva Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 played minutes Carandai SC got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Freire. Agnaldo da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliseu Castro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adhemar de Souza in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Emerson Lopez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Agnaldo da Cunha. COLÉGIO FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emerson Lopez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Carandai SC booed when COLÉGIO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuca Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Carandai SC's goalkeeper Eliseu Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adhemar de Souza. Eliseu Castro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adhemar de Souza in the 32nd minute. In the 37th minute, Emerson Lopez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the game, Samuel Freire was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carandai SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave COLÉGIO FC the free kick. In the 39th match minute, Carandai SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Freire to maneuver through the defense. Elói Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Henrique Veloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carandai SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave COLÉGIO FC the free kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Agnaldo da Cunha made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Emerson Lopez sent off a good shot on target. Eliseu Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuca Cabral in the 58th minute of the match. COLÉGIO FC's Agnaldo da Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save COLÉGIO FC from getting a goal against them. 65 minutes into the match, Adhemar de Souza notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Carandai SC's Eliseu Castro. Eliseu Castro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ivo Rezende hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the match, COLÉGIO FC's goalkeeper Agnaldo da Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emerson Lopez. 71 minutes into the match, Doriva Diniz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliseu Castro. Carandai SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doriva Diniz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After 75 played minutes COLÉGIO FC got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Koehler. In the 78th minute Carandai SC were awarded a corner. João Novaes went to the cornerflag to take it. Carandai SC's Bebeto Madureira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Agnaldo da Cunha in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Eliseu Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adhemar de Souza went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Eliseu Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samuca Cabral went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. 89 minutes into the match, Carandai SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Rezende came free, but Eliseu Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, COLÉGIO FC's Doriva Diniz got a free kick in the 91st minute. Samuca Cabral took the ball and in the 99 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseu Castro. Eliseu Castro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-2.
