Adilson Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the match, Watford Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Vander came free, but Adilson Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the game, Corinthians's Gugu Vander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adilson Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Corinthians's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sidney Proença was slow to take the kick. During this time Watford Fc's players had a chance to rest. Watford Fc's Sidney Proença was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luisinho de Amorim in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Adilson Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Vander in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Corinthians's Jerônimo Ribeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adilson Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Watford Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Paulo Barral didn't get a good kick on the ball. 0-3 became the score in the 19th minute when Gugu Vander elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Adilson Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerônimo Ribeiro in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Mattos in the 27th minute of play forced Watford Fc's goalkeeper Adilson Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney Sampaio was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 28 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, one of Watford Fc:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Corinthians a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abel Ceresso, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Watford Fc's Adilson Castro. 0-4. Corinthians's Gugu Vander managed to work through Watford Fc's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Gugu Vander dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Elói Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elói Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 36 played minutes Watford Fc got a freekick which was hit by Elói Andrade. After a rather tough play, Watford Fc's Norberto Porto got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 41st minute Luan Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, Watford Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Luz to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Luisinho de Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luan Schmidt.

Jerônimo Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Adilson Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elói Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Adilson Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerônimo Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 66 played minutes Watford Fc got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Porto. In the 70th minute, Elói Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute of the match Abel Ceresso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adilson Castro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Watford Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Ribeiro came free, but Adilson Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes, Watford Fc's Basílio de Brito shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luisinho de Amorim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Watford Fc reached it. Jerônimo Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Adilson Castro made a huge save. With a little luck, Watford Fc's Adilson Castro got control of the ball when Gugu Vander tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adilson Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Senna in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Watford Fc's zone, Oscar Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adilson Castro came out of the goal and Oscar Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adilson Castro came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians's Gugu Vander. But to his dismay, Gugu Vander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Jerônimo Ribeiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adilson Castro came out and tried to block the shot, but Jerônimo Ribeiro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 90th minute. 93 minutes into the game, one of Watford Fc:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Corinthians. Abel Ceresso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Adilson Castro. 1-7.
