An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Melo in the 61st minute of play forced Pegasus FC's goalkeeper Aníbal Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmundo Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Sanches having to interfere. When Oswaldo Alagoano came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Pegasus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswaldo Alagoano couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Vila Nova GO's Samuca Soeiro got a free kick in the 91st minute. 97 minutes into the game, Oswaldo Alagoano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Alfredão Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pegasus FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Vila Nova GO for a fine match.
