The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vila Nova GO's Alfredão Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Sousa in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Vila Nova GO's Gilberto Valladares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mateus Madureira. Mateus Madureira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Alfredão Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 minutes, Sydney Paranaense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Nova GO and the Autoescola Tupy FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Sousa in the 20th minute of play forced Vila Nova GO's goalkeeper Alfredão Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmundo Melo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Mateus Madureira made a huge save. Wanderson Zanette hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Wanderson Zanette left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Autoescola Tupy FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Vila Nova GO's Alfredão Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Lago in the 35th minute of play. Edinho Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37thth minute of the game Edmundo Melo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Autoescola Tupy FC's Mateus Madureira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alfredão Barreto came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Autoescola Tupy FC's Adelino Sousa. But to his dismay, Adelino Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jacinto Lago struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Alfredão Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Autoescola Tupy FC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The crowd rose to their feet as Jacinto Lago kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfredão Barreto. That made the score 1-3 in the 53 minute of play. In the 56th play minute Jacinto Lago came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alfredão Barreto. 1-4. In the 60th minute, Adelino Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Vila Nova GO getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Edinho Bezerra hit a great ball. Mateus Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Melo in the 66th minute of play. Alfredão Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Sousa in the 67th minute of the match. Adelino Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Edmundo Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateus Madureira having to interfere. Jacinto Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredão Barreto having to interfere. Alfredão Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wanderson Zanette in the 78th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Alfredão Barreto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Edmundo Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mateus Madureira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. When Edinho Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Vila Nova GO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho Bezerra couldn't finish the play. Edmundo Melo scored 2-4 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mateus Madureira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredão Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cacá Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Autoescola Tupy FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
