Beto Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Vides in the 5th minute of play. Beto Cardoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Vides's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, TRICOLOR's Marcel Salgado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beto Cardoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 17th minute Marcel Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beto Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jânio de Amorim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Filipe de Lara made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Vikings FC's Glauco Rocha got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vikings FC's goalkeeper Beto Cardoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Casemiro Neves had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Sílvio de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vikings FC's protests and gave Sílvio de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. Marcel Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The TRICOLOR fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when TRICOLOR's Gil Tande looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Filipe de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Couto in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Marcel Salgado made the kick off in the second half. If Marcel Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel Salgado got free with Beto Cardoso in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Marcel Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. TRICOLOR's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Salgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Beto Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcel Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Vikings FC's goalkeeper Beto Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zézinho Furlan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Couto in the 76th minute of play forced TRICOLOR's goalkeeper Filipe de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Jânio de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vikings FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jânio de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcel Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Beto Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcel Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beto Cardoso having to interfere. Umberto Vides charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Umberto Vides the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th match minute, TRICOLOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Vides to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute of the match Edvaldo Valadares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Filipe de Lara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Vikings FC's Jânio de Amorim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Filipe de Lara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1.
