Ruy Tepedino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Danilo Severo made a huge save. A collision led to Chapadinho getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Teixeira hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the game, Reginaldo Araújo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nildo Romero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reginaldo Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Nildo Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Chapadinho's goal looked a bit too open when Reginaldo Araújo came free, but Nildo Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Telmo de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Nildo Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reginaldo Araújo kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Reginaldo Araújo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Usina da Tijuca F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telmo de Andrade in the 46th minute of play forced Chapadinho's goalkeeper Nildo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Usina da Tijuca F.C. were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Reginaldo Araújo made the kick off in the second half. With his leg Nildo Romero managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Usina da Tijuca F.C.'s Telmo de Andrade fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reginaldo Araújo in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nildo Romero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Otávio Figueiredo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reginaldo Araújo in the 65th minute of play forced Chapadinho's goalkeeper Nildo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Telmo de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Cláudio de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reginaldo Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Nildo Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Telmo de Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Nildo Romero made a huge save. Chapadinho's Nildo Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Araújo in the 86th minute of play. Christian Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Danilo Severo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danilo Severo came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Chapadinho's Ruy Tepedino. But to his dismay, Ruy Tepedino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Usina da Tijuca F.C.'s zone, Ruy Tepedino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Severo came out of the goal and Ruy Tepedino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Usina da Tijuca F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
