But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genílson Marques couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Hot Rod Sports getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Sandro Abraão hit a great ball. Maurício Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Lucas Norberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafinha Teles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cássio Azevedo having to make a save. Cássio Azevedo came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hot Rod Sports's Mário Carvalho. But to his dismay, Mário Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafinha Teles in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cássio Azevedo saved Mustangs United Football from getting behind. Rafinha Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Mário Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Carvalho in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafinha Teles in the 41st minute of play forced Mustangs United Football's goalkeeper Cássio Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Mustangs United Football defense, Mário Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cássio Azevedo. The Mustangs United Football fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cássio Azevedo should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mário Carvalho to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafinha Teles got free with Cássio Azevedo in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mário Carvalho in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cássio Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute, Rafinha Teles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Mário Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Mustangs United Football's goalkeeper Cássio Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafinha Teles. Cássio Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Rafinha Teles sent off a good shot on target. After 74 played minutes Mário Carvalho rounded Mustangs United Football's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. If Rafinha Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hot Rod Sports's Mário Carvalho in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mustangs United Football's goalie prevented a goal. Cássio Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Genílson Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mário Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Hot Rod Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário Carvalho couldn't finish the play.
