Telmo Guimarães, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, EC Bahia's Victor de Queirós got a free kick in the 13th minute. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Abel Amaral put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ismael Velloso. EC Bahia's Abel Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute Valério Cabral suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 22 minutes into the game, Dorian Quirino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marequeta SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EC Bahia the free kick. The supporters of EC Bahia booed when Marequeta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ismael Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 29 minutes of play, EC Bahia's Abel Amaral made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ismael Velloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luiz Gustavo Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Telmo Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ismael Velloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC Bahia. In the 41st minute, Abel Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ismael Velloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri de Salles in the 45th minute of play forced Marequeta SC's goalkeeper Ismael Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Amaral took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ismael Velloso. Ismael Velloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abel Amaral made a kick off. Luiz Gustavo Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abel Amarals short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Ismael Velloso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marequeta SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Telmo Guimarães was slow to take the kick. During this time EC Bahia's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Cássio Quirino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Abel Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, EC Bahia's Telmo Guimarães sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ismael Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Abel Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Ismael Velloso made a huge save. EC Bahia's Telmo Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abel Amaral let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 78th minute shot 0-5 at rihgt post. Abel Amaral's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ismael Velloso firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to Marequeta SC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Luciano Severo hit a great ball. If Abel Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Telmo Guimarães scored 0-6 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ismael Velloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Abel Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Ismael Velloso made a huge save. Telmo Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. EC Bahia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
