Meriti's Celso Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Lima in the 94th minute of play. If Vágner Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C.A MATOGROSSENSE played a much better game than Meriti and deserved their victory. The Meriti players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
