Celso Gonçalves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Víktor Veiga went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Dieguinho Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. S.E. Bento XVI's Durval Souto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save S.E. Bento XVI from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Doni Figueiredo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Celso Gonçalves skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Meriti succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though S.E. Bento XVI had controlled the match.
