The referee ignored Arranca Toco FC's protests and gave Osvaldo Lago a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Canelas FC's Duarte Quirino ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnaldo Maia. Arnaldo Maia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Arnaldo Maia was a little too slow when Duarte Quirino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 2-0. Dorival Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Arnaldo Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Carlos Bueno made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Arranca Toco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Quirino came free, but Arnaldo Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 51st minute, Duarte Quirino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canelas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When Duarte Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Canelas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte Quirino couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Duarte Quirino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnaldo Maia was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Canelas FC had played much better football throughout.
